Competitive Shooting

Meet “Matt Morrison” out of Jacksonville, Florida

My son and I were shooting Steel Challenge in 2016 and we were lucky enough to have met Matt. I quickly noticed his passion for shooting and his patience and desire to help others on the range. I learned that Matt had only started shooting competitively in 2014. He mainly shot Steel Challenge, at the time.

Matt started shooting for Down Range Ammunition in the Fall of 2016. In April 2017 he earned his first Grand Master classification for Steel Challenge and since then it has pushed him to practice and train harder to sharpen his skills. He still shoots Steel Challenge, but actually prefers shooting USPSA because it involves moving, reloading, and shooting fast.

Matt travels all over the State of Florida to shoot and has gone as far as North Carolina for a match.

Some of Matt’s accomplishments are:

  • 2016 Florida State Champion Carry Optics Division - Steel Challenge
  • 2016 Sunshine Games Gold Medalist
  • 2017 Sunshine Games Gold Medalist
  • 2017 Pro Am 2nd Place Finish in Open
  • 2017 Pro Am 2nd Place Finish in PCC
  • 2017 Carolina Classic 2nd Place Open B Class
  • Numerous local match wins.

In the future look for “Matt Morrison” to shoot bigger matches such as Area 6 and even the Nationals. His ultimate goal is to make it to the World Shoot and Down Range Ammunition will help him along the way.

Good luck Matt!
